DECLARAÇÃO DO ARTISTA

Por mais que a vida siga cheia de regras, há um certo caos que ninguém controla. As cidades, os lugares por onde a gente transita, trabalha, em nossa casa. Em tudo há aparência de controle, inclusive em nós mesmos. Mas se olharmos de um outro ângulo podemos ter descobertas incríveis. Tanto lá fora, nas cidades, como dentro da gente. É esse espaço que me interessa.

 

O que me move é esse desejo de descobrir o mundo. A pesquisa artística acontece a todo momento. Uma imagem, uma pessoa na rua, uma cor na parede, um filme, uma foto, uma conversa entreouvida, tudo pode ser o início de um trabalho artístico ou de um novo projeto. Já o processo criativo exige um desconectar do mundo lá fora, uma solidão no atelier. É lá que a mágica acontece. Com a pintura, posso parar o meu tempo. Nada mais existe lá fora. Como tudo seria se fosse diferente?

ARTIST STATEMENT

​

As long as life is full of rules, there is a certain chaos that no one controls. Cities, places where we go, work, in our house. In everything there is an appearance of control, even in ourselves. But if we look from another angle we can have incredible discoveries. Both out there, in the cities, and inside us. It's this space that interests me.

 

What moves me is this desire to discover the world. Artistic research happens all the time. An image, a person on the street, a color on the wall, a movie, a photo, a conversation between two people, may all be the beginning of an artwork or a new project. Already the creative process requires a disconnect from the outside world, a solitude in the studio. That's where magic happens. With painting, I can stop my time. Nothing else exists out there. How would everything be if it were different?
